Certificate Sonography Programs
in the Bay Area

About the Bay Area
The Bay Area is a beautiful place, comprised of nine counties – Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma. Because the area is near the Bay, a lot of college students prefer the lively nightlife (and beach life!) compared to the busy lifestyle of the city. Accreditation: Yay or Nay
Accreditation is a very important characteristic to consider when choosing the program you want. Sonography students have to receive the best training in order to pass the ARDMS certificate exam and accredited-programs provide that. When a sonography program passes the rigorous vetting process of the CAAHEP or ARRT, it means that their curriculum meets the highest standards set for sonography education. Likewise, a program that is not accredited or recognized has a curriculum that is not up to par with the nationwide standards. Don’t forget: programs get accredited, not schools. Don’t be fooled by schools who say they are CAAHEP-accredited or ARRT-recognized.
