Pediatric Cardiac Sonography Training in 2015
Specializing in pediatrics is one of the most popular career choices made by sonographers today. With average annual salaries of sonographers in the US reaching almost $70,000, sonographers who specialize in pediatrics earn much more than that. According to a study conducted by the Society for Diagnostic Medical Sonography, 43.4 percent of pediatric cardiac sonographer respondents earned $80,000 annually on average. Because of these great statistics, pediatric cardiac sonography training in 2015 has become very popular. By the end of 2014, there were three schools offering pediatric cardiac sonography courses in the US.
Currently, there are more than 200 schools offering sonography training that have been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
